Soros, known to regularly support Democratic congressional candidates and attorney generals, has donated $1 million to racial justice organisation Colour of Change PAC. The organisation, which supports the defunding of the police following the killings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and many others, has called itself the United States’ largest online racial organisation. The $1 million donation by Soros is his largest political donation of the 2021 election cycle.

Soro’s successful career in business began with various roles at merchant banks in the United Kingdom and then the United States. In 1969, he then started his first hedge fund, Double Eagle. The profits from Double Eagle provided the seed money for Soros Fund Management, his second huge fund which he founded the following year in 1970. As of March 2021, Soros’s estimated net worth sits at $8.6 billion, having donated over $32 billion to the Open Society Foundations.
