According to Forbes, Rihanna is now worth an estimated $1.7 billion, making her the wealthiest female musician in the world and the second richest female entertainer after TV host and philanthropist Oprah Winfrey.

The majority of Rihanna’s fortune stems from the value of Fenty Beauty, which the singer launched in September 2017 and currently owns 50% of. The brand is highly praised for its broad inclusivity across skin tones and gender. The original launch included 40 different foundation shades, which has since expanded to 50.

The rest of Rihanna’s fortune comes mostly from her Savage X Fenty lingerie company, which has an estimated worth of $270 million, as well as her earnings from her music career.

Throughout the pandemic, Rihanna has donated upwards of $8 million to covid-19 relief efforts. In the past, she has also donated $2.1 million to victims of abuse in Los Angeles and a further $5 million to other charities through her non-profit organisation, the Clara Lionel Foundation
