Amazon founder and former CEO Jeff Bezos has criticised the Biden Administration over spiralling US inflation. Turning to Twitter, Bezos wrote that it is the least affluent Americans who are suffering the most. Presently, US inflation is at a near 40-year high.

“In fact, the administration tried hard to inject even more stimulus into an already over-heated, inflationary economy and only Manchin saved them from themselves,” Bezos said in a Tweet. “Inflation is a regressive tax that most hurts the least affluent. Misdirection doesn’t help the country.”

Bezos’ comments were made in response to a thread in which the US President claimed the country was on track for its largest yearly deficit decline ever, totalling $1.5 trillion.

Bezos called the President out over a tweet that said taxing wealthy companies can help to bring down inflation. Bezos also urged the Disinformation Board to review Biden's tweet.

“Raising corp taxes is fine to discuss,” Bezos said. Taming inflation is critical to discuss. Mushing them together is just misdirection.”
