This two-hour special tells the stories of the soldiers who played a key role in the events that shaped America, from the minutemen of the Revolutionary War to today’s elite Marines.
The documentary event blends expert interviews and high-impact archival footage to tell the story of a nation’s impossible rise from colonial underdog to the greatest military power on earth.
The American Soldier highlights the experiences of real soldiers throughout history, featuring interviews with military officers like Gen. Stan McCrystal and Col. USMC Ret. Doug Douds as well as Pulitzer Prize-winning historians Dr. Marcia Chatelain and Annette Gordon-Reed.
The American Soldier premiers on the History Channel on November 11th, 2024, and streams the next day on the History Channel app.
