In a press release, the Bezos Earth Fund said it had awarded 44 grants to climate organisations, including a $140 million donation to President Biden’s Justice40 initiative and a $51 million donation to support land restoration in the US and Africa.

The grants are part of Bezos’ $10 billion commitment to support scientists, activists, and organisations working to address the climate crisis. In the years ahead, the Bezos Earth Fund plans to further support efforts around the restoration of natural landscapes and food system transportation. Bezos has promised to fully disburse the fund by 2030.

In a statement, President and CEO of the Bezos Earth Fund Andrew Steer said, "The goal of the Bezos Earth Fund is to support change agents who are seizing the challenges that this decisive decade presents [...] Through these grants, we are advancing climate justice and the protection of nature, two areas that demand stronger action."
