This consolidated the future of the sport at the home of Golf.

Tiger Woods is an American Golf player known globally for his skill in the sport. Woods has won 5 Master Tournaments, 4 PGA Championships, 3 U.S. Open Championships and 3 British Open Championships. In 2001, when he won his second Masters tournament he also became the first golfer to ever hold all 4 major championships at the same time.

The 2024 Masters.

St Andrews Golf course

In 2022 at the Golf press conference Tiger Woods states that his favourite course is the Old Course at St Andrews, Scotland.

Tiger Woods has won the two out of his three Claret Jugs on this Course.

“To win at St Andrews is the ultimate”

St Andrews Links reports the history of the Course as one of the oldest courses in the world and was first played 600 years ago. Throughout the 1400s golf was being played on the Links at St Andrews, then in 1552 Archbishop Hamilton signed an official charter which recognised the right of the people of St Andrews to play golf there. This consolidated the future of the sport at the home of golf. From there groundskeepers were hired and the golf course grew.

The Old Course today

Despite the course being so prestigious they are still open to the public and welcome those to practice and enjoy the course.

The course is an 18 hole with one of the widest fairways in golf.

The old course can be played in multiple ways including in reverse drawing attraction to playing here. They offer a package to be able to do this as it is also one of Tiger Woods’s goals to play the course this way.

As well as the prestigious courses St Andrews offers excellent facilities at their Castle Course Clubhouse with views over the St Andrews bay.

St Andrews also offer various golf lessons for adults and junior to improve their skills and prepare to play on these famous Links.

There is no wonder why the Old Course at St Andrews is favourited by Tiger Woods as by so many others too.
