Inside the $1.7M Virginia Home Vice President J.D. Vance Sold
Vice President J.D. Vance has found a buyer for his stunning Virginia home just days after putting it on the market. The five-bedroom farmhouse in Alexandria, originally purchased for $1.64 million in early 2023, went up for sale on February 27, 2025 and less than a week later, the listing was marked "pending."
The 100-year-old property, full of historic charm and modern updates, served as the Vance family’s primary residence until their move into the official vice-presidential residence at 1 Observatory Circle following Donald Trump’s 2024 election victory over Kamala Harris.

Vance and his wife, Usha, along with their three children, bought the home via an LLC, a common move for public figures looking for privacy. The house features a blend of classic architecture and luxury amenities, including a spacious backyard, gourmet kitchen, and elegant living areas — ideal for a growing family and entertaining political allies.

The decision to sell came shortly after Vance transitioned into his new role, highlighting a symbolic close to his chapter as a private citizen and a full embrace of his national leadership position.
No word yet on the final sale price, but given the hot real estate market and the property's historic appeal, it’s likely the Vances secured a strong offer close to the $1.69 million asking price.
